desiderium

it feels almost like being left in a blank, white-out box but with no boundaries to which extent you can go. the earlier bits, prior you start the long haul voyage, there's almost everything accounted for. to every tiny steps to take included at which point to pause and reflect. then again, hazy days came about. everything you see miles ahead started to disappear bit by bit..

receptors receptors

the truth about pain is that, the sensation of it only surfaced after when the brain had completely decoded the information following being verified by any visual representations, be it physically or even worse, figuratively inside the minds of ours.

the worst part is, the pain is much more intense should we never had seen it coming and perhaps this is resulted from us having our guards down and definitely not prepared, nor anticipated it to even strike us in our most vulnerable position.

now that is another fascinating thing about our neural behaviour. the mind is so powerful it can actually decipher and dictate what we actually want to think of things around us creatively. when technically things should appears to be resulted in certain outcome, our grey matter can brought up another set of behaviour or sensation, sided to the bias we have chosen to feel.

but what happens if pain as the subject is substituted with hope and expectations? when things went south whilst anticipating it to go otherwise, does the minds processed the frustrations to another degree higher or does it actually ease the frustrations for us to perceive?

tulisan lewat

malam senyap,
hari digarap gelap,
sepelusuk perkara bergerak malap,
tapi akal beransur ligat.

ibarat serpihan besi memancar ketika terbakar
menerpa sejauh dayanya
menerpa apa yang mengganggu harinya
lalu disapa cermin menatap diri
kontemplasi akan diri
menghitung rahmat, menghitung akibat.

selamat malam

of Affirmative Action and Money Politics

The New Economic Policy was billed on 1971 by Tun Abdul Razak with its primary objective was to eradicate poverty among the people regardless of race. But predominantly, the policy was actually an affirmative action by then government to boost Malay’s share in the economy by making most of its agenda benefit the Malay community the most. Since independence in 1957, the nation had a lop-sided pattern of wealth distribution seeing the Chinese had the biggest portion of the pie, when comparing with the other two majors ethnic in Malaysia. In 1970, Malaysian household income was broken down into RM276 for the Malays, RM478 for Indians and staggering RM632 for the Chinese. This had become one of the contributing factors for the racial riots occured in 1969 and henceforth, the bill come onto surface as one of the remedies to rectify the imbalance.

The bill specifically aimed to tackle the Malay’s share in the economy with the agenda primarily aimed to improve the level of income of the bumiputera with preference of education and universities admissions, civil service jobs being allocated for the said community. Almost 85% of the civil servants today are Malays and 70% of university placements being reserved for Malays. Hence, that is probably why we see Chinese mostly couldn’t get a spot in local universities and was forced to go abroad instead to further their studies. Along the implementation of the policy since it was first launched in 1970, undoubtedly, according to the numbers and statistics, it does managed to achieve its primary objective. Bumiputera’s share in business increased from 2.4% in 1983 to 18.7% in 1990.

Nathless, few after effects came into light which resulted another economic nodus. The emergence of political element being a significant rules in the game of business relations had become increasingly severe seeing strong ties between business owners and political parties as a powerful competitive advantage in running the business.

There are groups of supporters of NEP who believes these policy had significantly helped majority Malays in levelling up the living conditions of mass Malays via instruments such as education, business opportunities and even the FELDA initiatives. It has been said should these affirmative actions has not come into place, Malays will not be able to get up to speed with the others economically and academically despite this affirmative action leads to the birth of subsidy mentality. Regardless, author thinks it is about time for these affirmative action to be put to halt so that the we are all on a level playing grounds.

merely my two cents.

penning down thoughts

we are undeniably been encountering major uncertainties and at times, bewildered with the fact that the thing that we want or look forward to, is it really what we really need or perhaps what I want? Should we really be pursuing that particular matters or is this just another affair we make exists to satisfy this hollowness or perhaps boredom occupying our current faculty of conciseness? Then of course, we resort to God for answers of these qualms.

And perhaps whilst seeking God for answers, we are actually have made the mind for sort of answers we really foresee. One might request God to shine some answers for such dilemmas but deep down, we already biased towards one of the remedies.

Explained, when we are seeking answers for uncertainties, often we have already made the mind. Rather, we are actually seeking affirmation towards actions we envisioned to be done. Assuming again, perhaps we would want to have somebody to be together with should the decision to opt or the remedy we biased towards, went south. We failed to achieve desired outcome yes, but at least that was not entirely within our faulty judgement since hey, others told us to opt for that one!

leaders eat last?

when we talk about leadership, of course the first thought came across most people would be that a leader should always put the people whom he lead before himself; whatever decisions he made, whatever the directions he paved, shall benefit the people he lead first. as said by Simon Sinek himself, leaders should eat last.

the idea of this leaders eating last is basically brought the argument of that, when people you lead cannot function to their full potential towards the goals to be achieved together, basically you shall ruin the efficiency and also discard the higher chances of attaining the goals of the pack.

however, there is another idea to that, but very much contradict and simply disarm the logic behind Simon's idea. it's the leaders shall need to be fed adequately first before any of them he lead gets anything. now i had been believing too deep with Simon's idea and somehow felt the violated and in absolute cringe state upon being thrown with the former proposition. but, as classic and cliche as it is, we can never judge a book by the cover. there is actually some points which i found easily make sense.

so the idea is really a mirror to Simon Sinek's; a leader shall have first whatever he finds he need before handing over the remaining to his associates since in any pack or any squad, leader is the paramount of all. should the leader fail to lead, fail to provide, then all of the associates shall be jeopardised. should the boat was captained by a man who don't know well enough the direction it supposed to be heading, then they shall simply in seconds, lost in the pacific isn't it? hence why logic somehow make some sense to it. leaders are also entitled to some pleasures for himself to ensure his state of mind are really firm towards the goal and his thinking ability shall function impeccably and optimised to his full potential. then come the chances of kleptomania embedded among these leaders isn't it?
